Religious Freedom is Not:

Hobby Lobby wants to get in between their employees and the health insurance companies to make sure that said employees can’t get coverage for birth control.  All in the name of “religious freedom”.  Religious freedom does not include controlling other people’s lives.  Also, if you pay for insurance, you are already paying for other people to have birth control and, in most companies, abortions.  You just don’t get to pick and choose what other people have covered.

I’m tired of the insistence that Christians are somehow oppressed in America.  (because Jesus said “blessed are the persecuted” and who doesn’t want to be blessed?)  Look, you don’t like that women might take birth control because you reject science, fine.  We ALL pay for things we don’t agree with.  Have you SEEN those drones in Pakistan??  Holy shit, we are murdering innocents every day.  Not to mention that the rest of us subsidize your churches.  Paying for some things you don’t agree with is part of the game called civilized society.  What other people do does not infringe on your religious freedom and you SHIT on the real martyrs every time you do this.  You will never convince me that this is why Jesus came to earth or why the founders came to America.

Hobby Lobby, you are not a church, nor are you an individual.  You are a large business with employees who rely on you for their income and, unfortunately, for their health insurance.  One of the most powerful religious lobbying groups already tried to handle this and it didn’t work but good luck with your lawsuit.

About Just Vegas

I'm a 30-something married SAHM which means the nightmare scenario that plagued my early 20's has become reality. Funny thing is, I kinda like it. I have 3 lovely daughters who are educated at home and at a part-time alternative school. I love animals (we currently have 2 dogs and 2 rats) and I love people (in the general sense, not everybody all the time). I have no income, I'm not crafty and I hate cooking. My skills include reading the internet, watching tv on the internet and conversing with people on the internet. I'm an armchair philosopher, spiritualist, agnostic, feminist, liberal, activist, political pundit and tv critic.
